(1) Purpose of research
As a means to energize "the manufacturing industry" in Kyoto Prefecture, it is essential to participate from the development stage; to gather accurate information about the development of new technologies, products and the usersf needs; and to establish know-how ahead of other producing regions.
Given the above requirements, it is the "prototyping industry" that is gaining high expectations among those who are nurturing "new"industries for the future. Already in Kyoto, a group called "Kyoto Prototyping Net" has been formed. In order to nurture the prototyping industry that is taking root in Kyoto Prefecture and grow it into a new industry, the target markets must be clearly identified.
In this research we will attempt to measure the market size, etc., of the prototyping industry and create fundamental documents for use in the proactive promotion of the industry in various fields.
